Certification Information

1. Certification Scheme and Rules

Baltum Bureau provides certification services in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021-1 requirements.
Our certification scheme is designed to ensure impartiality, transparency, and competence.

Key principles:

  • Objective evaluation of conformity against international standards;
  • Clear and transparent certification process;
  • Equal treatment of all clients.

Audit processes include:

  • Stage 1 audit (documentation review and readiness assessment);
  • Stage 2 audit (on-site or remote evaluation of implementation);
  • Surveillance audits (annual monitoring of compliance);
  • Recertification audits (full reassessment every three years).

Processes for certification decisions:

  • Granting certification – based on positive audit findings and decision by an independent certification committee;
  • Refusing certification – if requirements are not met or corrective actions are not implemented;
  • Maintaining certification – through successful completion of surveillance audits;
  • Renewing certification – through a full recertification audit;
  • Suspending certification – if a client fails to maintain compliance or pay fees;
  • Restoring certification – after corrective actions are successfully verified;
  • Withdrawing certification – in cases of non-compliance, misconduct, or failure to resolve issues;
  • Expanding or reducing scope – based on client request and confirmed by additional audit activities.

2. Appeals and Complaints Process

Any client or stakeholder may submit a complaint or appeal regarding our certification services.

  • Complaints must be submitted in writing to info@baltumburoo.com
  • Appeals against certification decisions must be filed within 30 days of notification.
    All complaints and appeals will be handled impartially, confidentially, and in accordance with our documented procedures.

3. Use of Name, Marks, and Logo

Certified organizations are entitled to use the Baltum Bureau certification mark in accordance with the Certification Mark Policy.

  • The mark may only be used for activities covered by the scope of certification;
  • It must not be used in a misleading manner;
  • Certification marks cannot be used on products, laboratory test reports, or calibration certificates;
  • Improper or unauthorized use may result in suspension or withdrawal of certification.

4. Directory of Certified Clients

Baltum Bureau maintains a public directory of certified organizations:
Certificate Search

The directory includes:

  • Organization name;
  • Standard of certification;
  • Certificate issue and expiry date;
  • Current status (valid, suspended, withdrawn, expired).

5. Impartiality and Confidentiality

Baltum Bureau is committed to impartiality in all certification activities.
Our impartiality policy ensures that no conflicts of interest compromise the objectivity of audits and decisions.
We also ensure the confidentiality of client information and use it only for the purposes of certification.
